The 67th Belgrade International Book Fair, which concluded recently, attracted a record 200,000 visitors, as reported by Danka Selić, the director of the Belgrade Fair. This year's event featured 424 direct exhibitors, including 340 from Serbia and 84 from abroad, resulting in a total of 881 participants, according to the fair's press release.

During the fair, 530 programs were organized by the Belgrade Book Fair and participating publishers. The Republic of Cuba was honored as the guest country, showcasing its cultural diversity and traditions, along with contributions from authors and publishers from Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Iran, Congo, Morocco, Germany, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Croatia, and Montenegro.

As the most attended book fair in the region, it welcomed numerous domestic and international publishers, writers, theorists, editors, translators, critics, and librarians. Over the nine days, attendees had the chance to enrich their libraries with new titles from local and international publishing houses, as well as timeless classics and antique books.

The fair included presentations of authors from Cuba, alongside various panels addressing topics such as domestic and foreign poetry and prose, translation, critical thought, publishing trends, new book formats, and digital piracy. Notable international guests included Tony Parsons from the UK, Nataša Rogelja from Slovenia, and David Unger from Guatemala and the USA, with publishers hosting various well-known authors at their stands.

This year, the Book Fair also honored exceptional achievements in the publishing industry with awards across multiple categories, including Publisher of the Year, Children's Book of the Year, and the "Bogdan Kršić" Award for the Most Beautiful Book. The next International Book Fair is scheduled for October 18 to 26, 2025, at the Belgrade Fair.
